Irma Escatel Bantista, Claim Section Manager at State Farm Insurance

Irma holds a master’s degree in Transatlantic Cultural Studies (Spanish), and dual bachelor’s degrees in Communications (Public Relations) and Spanish. She is fluent in Spanish, has 14 siblings, and is the daughter of two immigrant parents from Mexico. Her parents instilled and role modeled the importance of giving and she developed a strong passion for serving those who need our help. She and her family have been active volunteers by providing support for students throughout the year, and her family has led a coat, boots and sock drive through State Farm and at Corpus Christi Catholic School. Irma’s public service also reaches beyond our communities as she supports St. Jude and assisted with the recent Bloomington/Normal St. Jude Walk/Run, created a new Hispanic scholarship for Mendota High School students, and previously served on several Corporate Advisory Councils including: The United States Hispanic Leadership Institute, MANA (a National Latina Organization), and CNC, a nonprofit organization providing human services to persons in need from all racial and ethnic groups.

Irma’s experience and expertise in marketing, her strong communication, strategic, and relationship-building skills and most importantly her passion make her a perfect fit for Promise Council. Irma, her husband Jeremy, and two children (Elena and Isaiah) reside in Bloomington. This mission of Promise Council and the very positive impact to many in need in our community is what attracted Irma to join the board.
